About Brink & Associates Inc.

Brink & Associates Inc. has been providing consulting to professional services firms since 1994. Bob Brink is the principal consultant. Bob is a Certified Public Accountant(US) with a degree in accounting (Pennsylvania State University).

Bob’s involvement with professional services firms started in 1990 when he began working for a firm of architects and engineers in Calgary as their controller. His first assignment with the firm was to implement a new accounting system, a product called Wind2, that was designed specifically for professional services firms. 

Bob became a business partner of Wind2 Software in 1994. In 1998 he relocated his business to Ontario and began supporting Wind2 users in central and eastern Canada. In October 2004 Bob accepted an offer to become the Managing Director of the new Wind2 Canada office. He carried out this role until Wind2 was purchased by Deltek in October 2005.  Within a few months Bob decided that he could not work for Deltek, nor with their program , Vision.

Bob worked as a consultant with Axium from 2006 to 2008.  During that time he concluded that the Axium Ajera did not offer the standards of report customization or general ledger functionality required by his larger Wind2 clients.  

In June 2008 a colleague from Wind2 days suggested that he investigate Clearview InFocus.  As listed under the Clearview InFocus page, Bob was quite impressed with several aspects of InFocus: the technology, the level of report customization, the general ledger design, and the data conversions provided. And all this came at a competitive price. The first Canadian sales were made in August 2008.

Philosophy

We believe in specialization. We believe that we can best provide services when we are fully conversant with all aspects of our client's businesses and the software that we are supporting.

Location

We have two offices, one in Toronto and the other in Newfoundland. We can always be reached by the same phone number or email. As discussed under training and support, we do most of our work via the internet. What is most relevant to our users is that we are resident in Canada so that we are fully aware of Canadian issues such as GST and HST and general Canadian business practices.
